Who needs explanation and when? Juggling explainable AI and user epistemic uncertainty
As AI has become more ingrained in our daily lives, there has been calls to ensure that AI decision making is clear and transparent. This paper suggests however that explainable AI can have an adverse effect on user behaviour unless multiple factors are considered.
